Update

Emma's MRI went great! They had a little trouble getting her sedated. They ended up sticking her five times, but everything went fine. We got the report yesterday and there is no problem in the brain that could be causing the seizures. Now it is just a waiting game. Kids usually outgrow febrile seizures around the age of five, so hopefully she won't have that many more between now and then! Thank you for all of your prayers!

Update

The night before we left for San Antonio, Emma woke up with a fever and vomiting. She had another seizure, so on the doctors recommendation she is going to have a MRI on Thursday at Children's South. Please pray for us because she is going to have to be sedated to have the MRI.

Genius

Okay... I know everybody thinks that their kid is a genius, so here I go.... Emma called me into the den while I was cleaning up the kitchen and she said "Mommy I made an "e"". The top picture is of her e. Then she called me back in and said watch me make an l. The bottom picture is of her l. Maybe a coincidence... maybe not????

Learning about "A"

Tonight I started working with Emma on the "a" sound. She has been working on her letters at school, but I thought it might be nice to work on it at home too. I have been reading "Ready, Set, Read" by Janet Chambers (a lady I work with at TA). Tonight we did the big event- Emma was an ambulance driver taking animals to the hospital. She put on her special pink hat, pushed her stroller (ambulance) through the house saying "aaa, aaa". When she got her animals to the hospital (blanket), she would give them a bandage (sticker) to help them feel better before she would take them back home in the ambulance. Emma really seemed to enjoy the activity. She's been saying the "a" sound all through the house. We ate apples and read "Arthur's baby" to reinforce out work with "a". We will work on "a" for a week before we move on to the next letter. I will keep you updated.
